Why did Network School choose Kazakhstan?

Network School had offers from more than ten countries and chose Kazakhstan because it is Singapore with space to build. There are four reasons. Governance: a technocratic, pro-tech state that has set up a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and is courting international founders. Growth: Astana has gone from roughly 300,000 people in 2000 to close to two million, adding around 100,000 in a single recent year, which is why there are cranes everywhere. Space and nature: unlike Singapore, Dubai or Hong Kong, open country and horseback riding are 30 to 60 minutes from a very modern capital. Immigration: a digital nomad visa and residency built for tech founders. Astana's tech scene was missing international builders who stay longer than a week, and a residential community brings exactly that. The weak point is long-haul flights: there are still too few non-stop connections.
