Expect to arrive, check in, get your room and access, and be pointed to the calendar and the community channels. Ask for the arrival details for your cohort before you travel. Two things to handle in your first days whatever happens: Kazakhstan requires foreigners to register with the migration authorities within 72 hours of arrival, so confirm whether your accommodation does this for you, and sort out a local SIM or working eSIM straight away. Ask what time you can actually check in. Arriving at 3am into a −25°C night without a plan is a bad start.
